THE following cases were heard at Peterlee and Newton Aycliffe Magistates’ Courts in the last week.
Coundon
TROY DENT, 47, was handed a community order after he assaulted three people on December 14, of last year. The Collingwood Street Coundon resident, pleaded guilty to all three offences and was made to pay £95 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Shildon
DEAN WILSON, 37, of Fir Tree, Shildon, was given a four-week concurrent prison sentence suspended for 18 months after he damaged a memorial garden and flower bed on June 19, of this year. On the same day he also assaulted two police officers and one woman.
Stanley
MORGAN CONNER GILES, of Charlotte Street, South Moor, was fined £266 after the teenager was caught carrying a bladed article, namely a lock knife, in a public place on April 18, 2020. The 19-year-old indicated a plea of guilt and was made to pay £85 to fund victim services and £34 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Easington
KEITH WILKINSON, 37, of Avon Street, Easington Colliery, was given a 10-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months after he assaulted a man in a racially motivated attack in Peterlee, on December 30, of last year. Wilkinson indicated a plea of guilt and was ordered to pay £200 compensation and £85 court costs. He also pleaded guilty to stealing meat and alcohol from Aldi on the same date. He received no separate penalty.
Stanley
MARK JORDAN HOGARTH appeared in court after he disclosed a sexual photograph or film of a woman on June 16, of this year, without her permission The 20-year-old was handed a community order and made to pay £90 to fund victim services. Hogarth, of Westfields, Stanley, was also made to pay £80 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Peterlee
RICKY ANDERSON, 29, of Acre Rigg Road, Peterlee, was discharged conditionally for 18 months after he assaulted a woman by beating her in Horden, on February 15, of this year.
Darlington
LIAM DAVID HOLE, of Raby Chase, Darlington, attacked a woman at Darlington Railway Station on August 8, of this year. The 35-year-old was fined £533 and made to pay £53 to fund victim services and £85 court costs.
Hetton-le-Hole
MICHAEL JAMES PEARSON, 30, was handed a community order after he was caught with cannabis in his possession on September 29, of last year. The Moorsley Road, Hetton-le-Hole resident, was made to pay £90 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Ferryhill
KYLE MAWSON, 33, of Bessemer Street, Ferryhill, breached a restraining order on May 11, of this year. He was discharged conditionally for 12 months and ordered to pay a £22 victim surcharge.
Easington
CARLY LOUISE LAMB, of West Crescent, Easington, stole steaks from the Co-Op on December 8, of last year. The 22-year-old was handed a community order and made to pay £20 compensation. She was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge and fee to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Darlington
ANTHONY ROBERT TOUGH, 30, of North Road, Darlington, was fined £80 after he resisted a police officer in the execution of his duty on October 10, of this year.
Sacriston
ANITA PRICE, 49, of Sacriston, assaulted a police officer on August 27, 2020, by beating him. The Lingey Close resident was handed a community order and fined £100. She was also ordered to pay £120 compensation.
Seaham
DAVID PAUL RUDDICK, 26, pleaded guilty to beating a woman on July 17, of this year, at Seaham. Ruddick, of The Fells, Plawsworth, was handed a 18-week concurrent prison sentence suspended for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay £122 to fund victim services.
Thornley
SIMON COLLINS, of Shinwell Crescent, Thornley, was fined £80 after he damaged a house with intent to destroy and damage on October 11, of this year. The 29-year-old pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £50 compensation and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Darlington
MICHAEL NATHANIEL SIMMONS, 46, of Tom Raine Court, Darlington, was given a two-week consecutive prison sentence after he trespassed onto property at Cleveland Dental Practice and stole cash, till parts and documentation on October 11, of this year. Simmons indicated a plea of guilt and was ordered to pay £371.59 compensation.
Stanley
CALLUM FARRAGE, of Tynedale Terrace, Stanley, stole a children's rucksack and alcohol from Asda on August 13, of this year. The 26-year-old pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £75 compensation and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Durham
JOHN ALAN PARKINSON, 35, pleaded guilty to damaging a property on April 29, of this year. The Turnbull Close, Durham resident, was ordered to pay £200 compensation.
Darlington
JAKE JOHN FREEMAN, 20, of Walworth Crescent, Darlington, was fined £80 and banned from driving for 16 months after he failed without reasonable excuse to provide a specimen when required to do so after being suspected of committing a driving offence. The incident happened on August 29, of this year in Darlington. Freeman pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £34 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
