PETER Richardson was considering purchasing his first home with partner Debbie Kell when Homes by Esh announced it was building Lancaster Park, a new development of 55 properties in Middleton-St-George, near Darlington.
Interested in how a new build property might offer a more practical living environment and enhanced space compared with their older home, the couple decided to take a look around the site’s showhome.
“I’ve lived in Middleton-St-George for two decades and as locations go, it’s absolutely perfect,” says Peter. “It’s quiet, close to all amenities and Darlington itself but has that lovely community feel that goes with a smaller village setting. I was keen to remain in the village but when Debbie and I wanted to buy our first home together, we weren’t bowled over by the properties we visited – until we went to Lancaster Park.
“I was delighted a firm like Homes by Esh would be constructing new homes in the village as I know from reputation that they are a good-quality builder. As this would be the first new build home we’ve purchased, we wanted to make sure it was the right choice. In the end we opted for a three-bedroom Larch (priced from £194,995) off-plan.
“Although we couldn’t see the completed house when buying, we just knew this was the right property. We were keen to have a detached house with a driveway and the development itself looked fantastic. Buying off-plan was a risk well worth taking as the finished article is even better than we hoped.
“The level of detail and quality that goes into a Homes by Esh property is far superior to similar new build properties we’ve seen – and that’s noticeable from the moment you walk through the front doors.

“More people are now moving in so the smaller size of the estate has really helped to foster a nice sense of community amongst Lancaster Park residents. The development itself has a unique look with lovely traditional stone exteriors and very much on-trend anthracite window frames. Lancaster Park very much feels like it has its own identity.
“The sales team is always on hand to help with any queries and the aftercare from the customer service team is fantastic. We really couldn’t be happier with our new home at Lancaster Park,” ended Peter.
