TWO men have been arrested after an alleged armed robbery in Teesside this morning.
It happened at about 7.20am today at an off licence in Dormanstown, near Redcar.
Police say it is alleged that two men entered the shop and threatened a female worker with a hammer before stealing alcohol and cash and making off in a vehicle.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said she was "shaken" but was physically unharmed.
Two men, aged 27 and 29, were arrested about an hour later.
A police spokesperson said: "Liaising with CCTV operators, armed response and traffic officers travelled to the area, and then followed a vehicle to Grangetown where the men were arrested by 8.28am.
"A weapon was also recovered.
"The men remain in custody awaiting questioning and inquiries are on-going."
Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police via the 101 number quoting Ref 154905.
