ARMED police were called to a disturbance between several people in a Stockton Street in which a knife was reportedly seen.
Cleveland Police closed off part of Norton Road last night and armed officers were called to deal with the incident which led to the arrest of two people.
A police spokesman said at the time: "We were called to reports of a disturbance between a number of people on Norton Road, near to the High Street, in which a knife was reportedly seen.
"A man and a woman have then entered a nearby property on Norton Road and are making threats to attending officers.
"Armed police are on the scene and the road has been closed whilst the incident is dealt with."
A later update stated that a man and woman were arrested on suspicion of assault and affray in connection with the incident.
