A PRIMARY school has urged a number of students to stay at home after one tested positive for Covid.
Byerley Park Primary School, in Newton Aycliffe, is the latest in a long list of schools across the region to report a positive coronavirus test.
The school said it has been advised a youngster has tested positive and identified those in close contact with the pupil.
In a letter to parents the school said: “We have been advised that there has been a confirmed case of Covid-19 within the school.
“We have carried out a full risk assessment and identified all those who have been in close contact with the affected case and have recommended that they stay at home and self-isolate until 14 days after their last contact.”
The school is open as usual to all other students.
