Are you heading to a pub garden this bank holiday weekend?

There are plenty of fantastic pubs with outdoor areas to visit in County Durham- let’s just hope the weather stays on our side.

Here are five places you should visit this bank holiday weekend- did we miss your favourite off the list.

Half Mood Inn, Durham

This list would be incomplete without the Half Moon Inn.

The building itself is a Tudor building that was featured in the BBC series, George Gently.

The Half Moon Inn has a riverside courtyard with great views of the cathedral.

Black Horse, Beamish

This gastro pup boasts some great views and has some fantastic outdoor spaces.

People on Tripadvisor also seem to have high praise for the pub.

One person wrote: “It has the best beer garden with the most amazing views and sunset. I would recommend this place to everyone!”

The Angel Inn, Durham

The Angel Inn describes itself as a “real pub” with a close-knit community and a great atmosphere.

They have a garnered a reputation as an alternative rock pub, which is reflected in the pub’s aesthetic.

The outdoor area has plenty of wooden seating and some commenters on the pub’s Facebook page argue that it is “the best pub garden in Durham”.

The Garden Farm, Chester-le-street

This pub describes itself as a “welcoming” place with a “homely atmosphere”

If you’re looking for a relaxing pub garden this bank holiday weekend, then The Garden Farm has plenty of outdoor seating and wooden benches to relax on.

They are open from 12pm-12am Saturday and 11am-11pm on Sunday and Monday.

The Three Horse Shoes,  Durham

If you’re looking for a beer garden with a view, then The Three Horse Shoes is a great option.

They have a patio are and benches to enjoy your drink on, which looks out over the countryside.

If you’re feeling peckish, you can also grab some food- sirloin steak cooked in an Inka oven and Sunday roast are just some dishes on the menu.
