Police have recovered suspected crack cocaine during an operation in the Stockton area.

The operation, which saw officers patrolling in plain clothes, was carried out yesterday morning (Thursday) in the Parkfield and Oxbridge wards and a stop search of two people led to the recovery of suspected class A drugs.

A 44-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man have been interviewed in connection with the alleged offences and they have been reported for summons.

Sergeant John Sproson said: “We were successful yesterday morning in seizing suspected crack cocaine from two people who were searched in the Parkfield and Oxbridge wards and two people have now been reported for summons.

“Officers spoke to members of the local community and gathered information and intelligence about issues in the area and therefore we will continue with this operation to stamp out drugs activity in these areas and the associated anti-social behaviour which comes with it.

"We will not tolerate those who deal drugs causing misery within our local wards.”
