THERE have been no further coronavirus deaths in hospitals in the North-East and North Yorkshire.

Latest figures published on Tuesday afternoon, August 4, confirmed a total of 1,735 patients in the region have died since the outbreak began.

A further six people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospital in England, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 29,360.

The victims were aged between 46 and 93. All had known underlying health conditions.

The number of deaths in the region by NHS Trust, as 4pm on August 3:

Gateshead Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – 135 no change

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – 202 no change

North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust – 140 no change

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – 255 no change

South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust – 325 no change

Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 116 no change

York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – 214 no change

Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust - 82 no change

Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust (mental health) – 7 no change

Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (mental health) – 7 no change
