AN Air B&B has been closed following two years of anti-social behaviour.

Neighbours living near the accommodation in Ormesby Bank, near Middlesbrough, had complained to police about drug and drink-fuelled behaviour, noise, fighting, parties, fire setting and criminal damage.

Redcar and Cleveland Council made the application for a three-month closure order, which was granted by Teesside Magistrates' Court.

The authority said a total of 20 complaints have been made to the police in last year.

The court also heard statements taken from neighbours, who also provided diary accounts.

Complaints have been received going back two years.

Councillor Barry Hunt, cabinet member for neighbourhoods and environment, said: “Anti-social behaviour can make people’s lives an absolute misery and it will not be tolerated.

"The council will take action, including legal action, whenever necessary, to protect and support our residents.”
