POLICE are searching for a white car after a hit and run in Redcar last night.
The incident, which took place at about 6.20pm last night, involved a white Volkswagen Golf, believed to be the new shape, which collided with a 55-year-old female cyclist and did not stop at the scene.
It happened outside Low Farm Drive.
The woman suffered a laceration to her forehead and a broken leg and was taken to James Cook University Hospital, where she remains whilst receiving treatment.
Officers believe that the new shape Volkswagen Golf will have frontal damage and a missing nearside (passenger) wing mirror.
Anyone who may see the damaged car, or any witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage who may be able to assist the investigation, is asked to contact PC Andy Pitts from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 122153.
