THERE has been one further coronavirus patient death recorded in a hospital in the North-East and North Yorkshire region.

Latest figures published on Tuesday afternoon confirmed a further patient died, bringing the current death toll to 1,734 since the outbreak began.

The Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust recorded one further Covid-19 patient death - the region's first in almost two weeks.

A further 15 people died in hospitals across England after testing positive for the virus.

A statement from NHS England said: "A further 15 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,202.

"Patients were aged between 46 and 90 years old.   Five patients, aged between 46 and 84, had no known underlying health conditions. Their families have been informed."
