POLICE are continuing to appeal for help after they narrowed down the last movements of missing man Max Smith.

The 22-year-old has not been seen since Wednesday, June 24, and both police and his family have grown increasingly concerned for his welfare.

It is believed he had left his home in Adelaide Court, Gateshead, before heading in the direction of the Angel of the North.

Enquiries to locate Max have been ongoing with extensive search activity taking place across Gateshead in recent days.

But now police are focusing in Lamesley after CCTV captured him in the area at about 7.30pm on June 24.

Now Detective Chief Inspector Angela Hufton, of Northumbria Police, have appealed for anyone who may have seen him to contact police.

She said: “A number of officers are combing the area now but we want to make a specific request to anyone who lives nearby and may have seen him. We would also continue to ask residents to check their gardens, outbuildings, sheds and any other places which may be hidden from general view.”

Max is described as white, around 5ft 11ins tall, of medium build and with short brown hair.

It is understood he was wearing a short, black North Face quilted jacket, a grey top, dark grey tracksuit bottoms and grey and white trainers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers on 101 quoting log 715 30/06/20.
