North Yorkshire Police believe a body pulled from the River Ouse, York, is missing man Nick Gunnell
POLICE searching for missing man Nick Gunnell have recovered a body from the River Ouse.
North Yorkshire Police began searching for the 55-year-old, after he went missing from his home in York, last Tuesday morning.
On Sunday afternoon kayakers told police they had seen a body on the river, between Scarborough Bridge and Clifton Bridge.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said, although formal identification has not yet been carried out, Mr Gunnell's family has been informed.
They added: "Our thoughts are with Mr Gunnell's family at this time.
"A report will now be prepared for the coroner."
