WITH the Government announcing the reopening of pubs on Saturday, here is how some of the premises in Northallerton will be operating to keep staff and customers as safe as possible.

The Northern Echo:

The Willow Beck will be opening on Saturday July 4 and the pub will be taking all the necessary precautions when they do reopen.

Their staff will be receiving additional training to ensure safety for customers and staff. This will include a health screening questionnaire to ensure that all staff are in good health.

There will be additional signage in the pub to ensure social distancing, and all furniture will be arranged to ensure that they are two metres apart throughout the building.

Hand sanitizers will be placed at the entrance to the building and menus will be one use disposable, and fully recyclable.

The Willow Beck will also be managing capacity so customers may be asked to queue outside.

The Northern Echo:

The Durham Ox currently doesn’t have a reopening date, however, they will be taking similar precautions as The Willow Beck, however, The Durham Ox will not be serving food when they reopen.

They will ensure that contactless payments are encouraged, and they will also be providing disposable one-use menus.

Hand sanitizers will also be placed at the entrance and some tables will be removed and moved around to ensure that social distancing is achieved.

Much like The Willow Beck, The Durham Ox will be managing capacity and asking customers to queue outside when necessary.

The Northern Echo:

The Foxglove will be reopening on Monday July 6 and has also implemented changes in order to keep its customers and staff safe.

The venue will be giving customers the opportunity to book a table before customers visit to ensure they have a safe space to enjoy, and tables will be laid out to ensure safe social distancing.

There will be a queuing system into the pub to ensure that capacity is not reached, and toilets will be signposted and meticulously.

The venue will also be introducing a pub safe monitor who will be checking everyone is safe and responsible for additional cleaning and ensuring tables are cleared properly.

The staff at The Foxglove will be receiving additional training in accordance with government guidelines and will have their temperatures checked before each shift.

The building will also have hand sanitizers at each entrance and throughout the pub to ensure everyone is washing their hands regularly.

Contactless payments are also encouraged wherever possible.

The Northern Echo:

The Ralph Fitz Randal will be reopening Saturday July 4 and like all JD Whether spoons pubs will be following similar advice.

Screens will be in place at the tills and contactless payments are encouraged whenever possible.

Tables will be moved in order to ensure safe social distancing between parties and screens will be in place to create extra seating areas where social distancing could not be achieved.

An average of ten hand sanitizers will be placed throughout the building and staff will be regularly cleaning surfaces and touch points.

Customers will also be encouraged to use the Whetherspoons order and pay app, and these orders will be delivered directly to the table avoiding any customers loitering at the bar.

The pub will also have a slightly reduced menu and sachets of sauces will be provided rather than bottles.
