DETECTIVES investigating an early-morning burglary have asked occupants to check their dashcam footage and come forward with information.

Officers from Northumbria Police attended an address on Myrella Crescent in the Hill View area of Sunderland, shortly before 2.30am on Friday morning.

It was reported that a group of men had entered the address before making off with house keys and car keys.

An investigation was launched into the incident and officers have arrested three men, aged 39, 37 and 35, on suspicion of burglary.

Police have trawled through hours of CCTV footage from the area and have also carried out house-to-house enquiries as part of the investigation.

Now officers have appealed for any residents who live in the Tunstall Hill, Ashbrooke and Hill View areas who have parked dashcam footage to check their systems and get in touch if they spot anything suspicious between 1am and 4.30am.

Detectives are especially interested in hearing from residents living on Shirley Gardens, Crosslea Avenue, Leechmere Road, Glenesk Road and Myrella Crescent.

Police have also asked any motorists who were travelling in that area in the early hours of the morning to check their dashcam footage.

Anyone with information that can assist the investigation is asked to contact Northumbria Police by ringing 101 or using the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of the force website, quoting log 63 050620.
