FIREFIGHTERS are dealing with a large waste fire in Felling, Gateshead.
Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a vehicle and a large pile of waste on fire at about 10.50am in the Brewery Lane area.
A spokesperson for the service said two crews from Gateshead, one from Hebburn, one from Newcastle Central and the aerial ladder platform from Marley Park were in attendance but this has now been scaled back.

Police have also been called to the scene and are helping the fire service with road closures in the area.
Smoke is visible for miles around, but it has been described as not serious.
People are urged to stay away from the area.
