New figures released have said that 1,277 people died in the North East and North Yorkshire from the coronavirus.
This means a further 33 people have died in hospitals since yesterday.
The total number of patient deaths recorded by each trust as of 4pm on Sunday, May 3 are:
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – 149 was 148
North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust - 79 was 75
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – 189
South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust – 277 was 270
Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – 95 was 93
York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – 135 was 129
Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust – 48
Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust (mental health) - 5
Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (mental health) - 7
Total: 1,277 was 1,244 the day before.
