NEARLY 1,250 people have died in North East and North Yorkshire hospitals from coronavirus.
Figures released today (Saturday) showed that a further 29 people have died since yesterday, taking the total to 1,244.
The total number of patient deaths recorded by each trust as of 3pm on Saturday, May 2 are:
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – 148 was 147
North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust - 75 was 74
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – 189 was 185
South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust – 270
Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – 93 was 88
York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – 129 was 124
Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust – 48 was 47
Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust (mental health) - 5
Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (mental health) - 7
Total: 1,244 was 1,215 the day before.
