THREE people have been arrested as part of an investigation which has been launched following the death of a man.

Police were called to a report of a man's death at an address in Duke Street, Hartlepool today.

Emergency services were called to the property at about 2pm.

A police investigation has now been launched into the circumstances surrounding the man's death.

Three people have been arrested in connection to the incident, including two men and a woman, who are all in their 20s.

No details have been released about the dead man.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "We were called at around 2pm today (Friday) to a report of a man’s death in an address in Duke Street, Hartlepool.

"An investigation has begun into the circumstances of the man’s death.

"A 26-year-old man, 28-year-old man and 25-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident."

The North East Ambulance Service also attended the incident.

The dead man has not yet been identified.

No details have been given about the alleged offence the three have been arrested on suspicion of.

Police officers were working on the scene yesterday, with crime scene investigators seen working in the area.

The street was cordoned off to allow officers to work.
