A CARE provider is looking for a 'caring army' of new recruits to help elderly people during the coronavirus pandemic.

HC-One, the UK’s largest care provider which has an HQ based in Darlington, is calling on workers who have been furloughed or lost their job due to coronavirus to consider a career change to help support older people in their communities.

The company has launched a UK-wide recruitment campaign after creating thousands of new, permanent roles across our 300 homes, in response to the growing need from the NHS to unlock valuable hospital beds, meaning the care homes will become a vital service to support the vulnerable elderly population.

Available opportunities vary from carers and wellbeing coordinators, to chefs, kitchen porters, administrators and maintenance operatives.

Full training and induction will be provided, with new hires helping support HC-One's existing 23,000 strong front-line care teams.

The company said that their key requirements in candidates include kindness, compassion, and a desire to put a smile of the faces of older people.

A competitive benefits package is offered, and all new joiners will become some of the UK’s crucial ‘key workers’ with the additional support offered to them by Government at this time.
