MORE than 30 firefighters are tackling a large fire at a community centre and neighbours have been told to keep their windows closed.
Crews were called to the Boldon Community Association buildings on New Road, Boldon Colliery, near Sunderland, at 3.30pm.
Significant damage appears to have caused.
A spokesperson for Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service said: "We are currently dealing with a large fire at a commercial building in the Boldon area.
"We have five fire engines, an aerial ladder platform and our command unit on the scene.
"Residents in the surrounding areas of New Road are advised to keep their windows closed."
