A MAN has been arrested after an 81-year-old was robbed in a town.
Elroy McArthur, of Forster Street, Darlington, has been charged with robbery and remanded in custody after an elderly victim was robbed at a cashpoint in Darlington yesterday.
He will appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court this morning.
Police are now appealing for information in connection with the incident.
The victim, who had his £110 pension money taken, was shaken but unhurt in the incident in Corporation Road, Darlington, at about 9.40am yesterday. The money has since been recovered and returned.
Witnesses are asked to call Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident reference 71 of March 23.
