ROCKLIFFE HALL has closed tonight, with bosses saying they did not feel it was safe for staff and guests to stay open.

The golf course remains open.

A statement released tonight by managing director Jason Adams said: "It is with heavy hearts and sadness we announce Rockliffe Hall hotel will close at 6pm tonight for the foreseeable future. This follows the closure of our Spa on Wednesday, and the closure of our restaurants on Friday evening.

"The protection of our team, and our guests, has always been the main priority and, even with additional health and safety measures in place, we don’t feel it is safe for us to continue to operate as a hotel.

"For the time being the golf course will remain open and we have strict measures in place to enable social distancing and to protect our team and guests. Please note this is subject to change and we will continue to follow the advice of the Government.

"I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to each and every one of our guests and members for all of your support and loyalty in these challenging times.

"I have also been blown away by the kindness, compassion and genuine care shown by the whole Rockliffe Hall team over the past few weeks and I know that when we come back, we will be stronger and more united than ever before. "

For now, be safe and we look forward to reopening our doors when this difficult time has passed."
