THE following cases were among those heard at Newton Aycliffe and Peterlee Magistrates’ Court during the last week.

KYLE RICHARDSON, 29, of no fixed abode, was jailed for a total of 20 weeks for breaching a restraining order, possessing a gold knuckle duster in a public place, criminal damage, assaulting an emergency worker and offending whilst subject to a suspended prison sentence. He was also ordered to pay £122 victim surcharge.

CONNOR JOHN WALKER, 20, of Plantation Terrace, Crook, was banned from driving for 14 months and fined £120 after he pleaded guilty to driving whilst under the influence of drugs on October 27, 2019. He was also ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

SAM BLAND, 39, of Briardale, Consett, pleaded guilty to driving without insurance or a driving licence on October 28, 2019. He was fined £160 and had his driving record endorsed with six points. He was also ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

LIAM CHRISTON, 34, of Wilshire Place, Darlington, was fined £120 for stealing washing products and air fresheners from Wilko’s on March 1 this year. He was also ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

DAVID MARTIN THEAKER, 29, of Westmoreland Street, Darlington, pleaded guilty to driving whilst under the influence of drugs, causing damage to a bridge, failing to stop, taking a vehicle without consent, driving without due care and attention and possession of cocaine on August 30 last year. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and made subject to a community order with a requirement to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay £3,120 compensation for the damage to the bridge.

JACK SEAN WILSON, 21, of Victoria Avenue, Brandon, Durham, was banned from driving for three years after pleading guilty to driving a BMW whilst under the influence of drugs on December 8 last year. He was also made subject to a community order and must carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.

WILLIAM CLARKE, 18, of Brinkburn Drive, Darlington, was fined £120 for assaulting a police officer on Skinnergate, in Darlington on February 22. He was also made to pay £50 compensation, £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

LIAM JACK WILKINSON, 26, of Plantation View, West Pelton, Stanley, was disqualified from driving for 14 months and fined £180 for driving whilst under the influence of drugs and driving without insurance on January 11. He was also ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

BRAYDONE KANE WOOD, 18, of Commercial Street, Willington, was given a conditional discharge for 12 months for stealing Budweiser Lager from The Co-Op valued at £9.50. He was also ordered to pay £9.50 compensation, £21 victim surcharge and £40 court costs.

STEPHEN GEORGE HENNINGS, 30, of Brompton Park, Richmond, North Yorkshire, was given a community order after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer on February 20 this year. He was also ordered to pay £100 compensation.

ABBEY MARIE NOBLE, 24, of The Leas, Darlington, was disqualified from driving for 16 months and fined £234 for driving whilst under the influence of cocaine on December 10, 2019. She was also ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

STEPHEN JAMES WOOD, of Rayham Court, South Shields, was fined £800 for driving whilst disqualified, and driving whilst under the influence of drugs on November 9 last year. He was also ordered to pay £50 victim surcharge and £85 court costs and banned from driving for a further 12 months.

ANDREW SHAUN JESSOP, 36, from Middlesbrough, was discharged conditionally for 12 months after he stole six cans of Lynx deodorant from Poundland on February 21 this year. The Enfield Street resident pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £12 compensation.

MICHAEL JAMES REED, 30, of Houghton Street, Hartlepool, was fined £40 after he damaged a window at Middleton Grange Shopping Centre on March 2, 2020. He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £150 compensation, £32 to fund victim services and £85 court costs.

PAUL BAILEY SAUNDERS, 38, of Scholars Rise, Middlesbrough, was given a suspended prison sentence and disqualified from driving after he was caught behind the wheel whilst over the legal drink drive limit on December 27, 2019. Saunders pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £122 to fund victim services and £85 court costs.

JONATHAN ROBERT BEE of Ellary Walk, Hartlepool, was handed a community order after he assaulted two police officers on January 18. The 34-year-old was also made to pay £75 compensation.

BRADLEY JAMES BRUDENELL, 26, of Burns Road, was in the dock after he used threatening, abusive, or insulting words of behaviour with intent in Redcar on December 20, 2019. The Middlesbrough resident pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £90 to fund victim services and £40 court costs.

GEORGIE DUFFIELD, 29, of Moffat Road, Hartlepool, was up in court after he took a Range Rover without consent and then damaged the vehicle whilst driving under the influence of alcohol on August 21. He was handed a community order and made to pay £5000 compensation. Duffield changed his plea to guilty and was also disqualified from driving for 18 months.

THOMAS MICHAEL LACSON, of Woodcock Close, Middlesbrough, was disqualified from driving for 12 months after he was caught behind the wheel whilst over the legal drink drive limit on October 18, 2019.The 23-year-old pleaded guilty and was also ordered to pay a £90 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

GARY TAYLOR, 46, of Church Street, Hartlepool, was given a 20 week suspended prison sentence after he broke into a corner shop and stole alcohol and chocolate on November 17, 2019. He was ordered to pay £17.90 compensation.

DANIEL JACKSON, 24, of Stockton, was fined £240 after he threatened to damage a women's property on November 27 last year. The Springhome Terrace resident pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

UYANE BARBER, 39, of High Street, Castleton, was fined £220 for travelling on a train without a ticket on September 23, 2019. He was ordered to pay £5.80 compensation and £32 to fund victim services.

ELSWORTH MAYNARD, 49, of Prince's Road, Middlesbrough was given a community order after being caught in possession of a knife in public, on August 16, 2019.
