A HOLIDAY firm which operates coaching holidays from the North-East has revealed it has cancelled all of its holidays for at least a month due to coronavirus.

National Holidays, which operates UK-wide tours from Darlington, County Durham and Teesside, announced the holidays would be cancelled from Wednesday (March 18).

In a statement the firm said the government's new announcement advising against 'all but essential' travel had last night forced their decision.

It said: "Further to the government announcement yesterday evening we will be unable to operate any holidays from 18th March up to and including 30th April and so will be postponing or cancelling these departures."

For those with bookings, National Holidays said it was asking customers to avoid calling its call centre, instead the firm said it would contact affected customers to advise further.

The statement added: "Your booking and money is safe and we will contact everyone in departure date order. Please be patient and wait for us to contact you.

"Can we thank all of our valued clients for their support and loyalty at this very difficult time. We will continue to offer the best value short breaks and holidays as soon as we are through these challenging times."
