THE following cases were among those heard at Teesside Magistrates' Court this week.

CHRISTIAN LEONARD od Cliffe Street, Brotton, was fined £384 and told to pay costs of £85 after using an unlicensed vehicle. The 43-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence after being spotted on the Marske bypass last September. The previous licence had expired on May 5 last year.

OWEN STOKER, 25, of Robinson Court, Loftus, appeared accused of speeding on a 30mph zone in Wetherby Road, Walton while driving a large goods vehicle. He pleaded guilty and was fined £115, told to pay costs of £85 and given three points on his licence.

GEORGE MOHAMMAD AL'HARIRI, 27, admitted driving in Middlesbrough while above the drug drive limit. He was caught driving an Audi A3 on the A66 while he had Delta-9-tetrahydrocannaqbinol in his system. Al'hariri, of Wensleydale Rise, Leeds, was also driving above the 50mph limit and had a quantity of cannabis in his possession. He was banned from driving for 18 months and fined a total of £423, and was told to pay costs of £85. He also admitted damaging a pair of glasses belonging to a police officer and was told to pay compensation of £144.

ADRIAN WILLIAM CAMPBELL, 35, of Beaconsfield Road, Stockton, was accused of drunk and disorderly behaviour in a public place. He pleaded guilty and was given a six-month conditional discharge, and told to pay costs of £45.

NICOLE ELIZABETH CONDELL, of Graham Street, Liverton, in Saltburn, was fined £40 after pleading guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place. The 27-year-old was also told to pay costs of £85.

ANDREW GIBSON, 46, of Carmel Gardens, Norton, was given a six-month conditional discharge after admitting to having a quantity of diamorphine, a class A drug, in his possession, He was told to pay costs of £45 and a victim surcharge of £20.

KRISTOPHER CARL HACKETT, of Bridge Street, Stockton was accused of stealing £60 worth of meat from Asda. He pleaded guilty and was given a six-month conditional discharge. The 32-year-old was told to pay compensation of £30, costs of £85 and the victim surcharge of £20.

JACQUELINE HAWKESFORD, of Ruskin Grove, Hartlepool, admitted making up false invoices and collecting money to make a gain of £3,233.99. Hawkesford, 27, was given a community order and will have to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work. She will also have to pay compensation of £3,233.99.

CHRISTOPHER PAUL JEFFCOATE, of Ickworth Court, Ingleby Barwick, was fined £360 and banned from driving. The 44-year-old pleaded guilty to driving while above the legal alcohol limit. He was given a 17-month driving ban and was also given costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £36.

DANIEL JOHN GRAY, 31, of Valley Road, Middlesbrough was given a 12 week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, after admitting to driving while above the drink drive limit, while disqualified and without insurance. He was given a community order, requiring him to take part in the Thinking Skills Programme and was disqualified from driving for 40 months. He was also told to pay a victim surcharge of £122 and costs of £85.

EVALDAS LEKAVICIUS, 35, of Spurn Walk, Hartlepool, was banned from driving and fined £666. He admitted to driving while about the alcohol limit, namely 164 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. He was banned for £46 months and given costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £66.

MICHAEL ROBERT JOHNSTON, 29, of no fixed abode was jailed for 12 weeks. He had been accused of breaching a restraining order. He denied the charge but was found guilty.

DAVID FRANCIS OWENS, of Miers Avenue, Hartlepool, was fined £120 after admitted to resisting a police officer in the execution of his duty. Owens, 28, was told to pay the victim surcharge of £32 and £85 in costs.

PHILLIP BILLINGS, 38, of Premier Road, Middlesbrough, was told to pay £5,706.36 after appearing in connection with non-payment of child support.

EMMA JANE DUFFIELD, of Laneside Road, Stockton, was jailed for eight weeks. The 41-year-old admitted staling a £79.99 electric toothbrush from Boots, failing to attend Cleveland Magistrates, Court on February 6, and failing to comply with supervision requirements following release from prison.

AARON CHRIS THOMAS DUNN, 29, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to stealing an unknown value of scratch cards from the Wilko store in Captain Cook Square, Middlesbrough. He was jailed for eight weeks and told to pay compensation of £80.

ALASTAIR JAMES WEIGHTMAN, 29, was jailed for six months after admitting to having a machete in a public place, namely Vulcan Way, Stockton. Weightman, whose address was given as HMP Durham, will have to pay a victim surcharge of £122.

MALCOLM DUGGAN, 62, was fined £200 after pleading guilty to producing cannabis in Hartlepool, as well as being in possession of the class B drug. Duggan, of Pickering Grove, Hartlepool, was given costs of £85 and the victim surcharge of £32. An order to destroy the cannabis plants and equipment was made.

LIAM DALE RONALD JOHNSON, of Leybourne Terrace, Stockton, was made the subject of a community order and to pay compensation of £103.50 after admitting to trespassing at Claire's Blooms Florist with intent to steal. Johnson, 28, must abide by a 7pm-6am curfew for 14 days and take part in a drug rehabilitation programme.
