A MAN has appeared at court for causing the death of a 64-year-old by driving dangerously.
Dylan Liam Dowd appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court yesterday where he pleaded guilty to one count of causing death by dangerous driving on the A177 at Shincliffe.
The 25-year-old, of Horton Crescent, Bowburn, was driving an Audi A3 which struck and killed Steven Bell shortly after midnight on March 2.
He suffered severe chest and abdominal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mr Bell’s family paid tribute to him at the time of his death, describing him as a much loved family member and friend.
Dowd will appear at Durham Crown Court on March 20.
