A GRAND hall converted into a three-bedroom family home remains on the market for half a million pounds, and it comes with its own walled courtyard.
Dating back to the 16th century, Horden Hall at Horden Hall Farm near Peterlee has been on the market for the past two years.
The Grade-II listed building, which its owners say boasts "impressive sea views" and an "abundance of space", is significantly higher in value than the average home nearby.
In the past year, homeowners in Horden have paid on average £52,728 for their homes while the average value of homes in the area are just under £70,000.
But hoping to fetch somewhere in the region of £450,000 (at time of publication), the lucky owner of Horden Hall will not be short of rooms and mystery spaces to investigate.
Built in late 1590, the hall features several rooms with scope that the second floor can be opened up for further development.
The property begins with a large carpeted hallway which leads onto two 'spacious' living areas, complete with feature fireplaces and views of the grounds.
On the ground floor, the hall features a 'sizeable' dining room, kitchen, downstairs toilet, potential study or storage area and a large utility area.
Upstairs, the hall features three 'generously-sized' bedrooms, two of which offer their own private dressing rooms.
A large family bathroom, and a dedicated study area also join the collection of rooms on the first floor.
Despite being on the market since February 2018, the Hall is said to have well-maintained gardens and features its own walled courtyard to the rear.
The second floor, currently used as a large loft room, can be developed into a further living space.
Signature North East, who are marketing the property said Horden Hall is within easy reach of the A19 in both directions and it is near to the location of the soon-to-be completed Horden Railway Station.
