A MAN threatened to stab a police officer in the street with a kitchen knife after a violent outburst at home, a court heard.
Corey Jake Boulton appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court yesterday where he pleaded guilty to one charge of threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place.
John Garside, prosecuting, said police were called to deal with a domestic incident and found the 24-year-old in a nearby street.
He said: "When police approached him in the middle of the road he backed away and produced a kitchen knife saying 'touch me and I will f*****g kill you'."
After officers warned they had a taser the defendant dropped the knife and was arrested soon after.
Jennifer Hall, mitigating, said: "He is aware that he is mentally unwell, he suffers with ADHD, anxiety and depression and suspects he has personality disorder."
Boulton, of Ennerdale Close, in Seaham, was remanded into custody and will appear at Durham Crown Court on March 4.
