POLICE are appealing for information following a suspected burglary at a Spar store in Kelloe.
The incident happened shortly after 2am this morning, January 21, at the premises on Front Street.
It is believed the suspects gained access to the side door by breaking the shutter and once inside made their way towards the free standing cash point machine.
They removed a large sum of money, alcohol and cigarettes before ripping out the CCTV and making off.
Detective Sergeant Natalie Carlyle, from Durham City CID said: “This is a serious incident and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the break in."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Durham City CID on 101 quoting incident number 14 of January 21.
