A WOMAN was in hospital with serious leg injuries tonight after being hit by a bus.
Fire-crews were called to Westgate Road in Newcastle at 5.35pm today.
A 58-year-old woman from Carlisle, Cumbria, was taken to Newcastle General Hospital with serious leg injuries. Her condition was described as stable.
The road was blocked for two hours following the incident.
