THERE'S just under one month left to finalise plans for Valentine's Day, whether that's a romantic meal out or night in with a parmo, we've rounded up six alternative date ideas for those celebrating in and around Teesside.

On the evening of February 14, thousands of Teessiders are set to descend on restaurants with their loved ones at Teesside Park and in town centres - but if you're lucky enough to have that day free, then the Tees Valley has everything from jet skis to salsa dancing.

1.) Rise 1,000ft into the sky with a hike of the iconic Roseberry Topping, Great Ayton

Located on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, self-proclaimed walkers will have outstanding views across Teesside and North Yorkshire (provided the weather is up to scratch.)
