TALENTED swimmers have missed out on first place in a national competition by one second.
Members of the Thirsk White Horse swim team travelled to Sheffield to take part in the annual Teaspoon Gala.
They faced swimmers from as far away as Glasgow, with winners at the event getting spoons instead of medals.
Swimmers Greg Ient, Jonathon Pears, Mark Chamberlain and James Laking swam twice for the team.
They missed out on first place in the freestyle relay race by one second and came third in the medley relay.
Team members Jennifer Crewdson, Ashley Crewdson, Jade Hutchinson, Chloe Horner and Rebecca Hair also did well at the event.
The team trains daily at Thirsk Swimming Pool.
