A WOMAN had to be taken to hospital after she was hit by a white van while on a pedestrian crossing.

At around 2.45pm on Friday, January 10, a woman was walking across the A1027 near Norton Avenue in Stockton when she was hit by a Vauxhall Movano.

The 31-year-old reportedly suffered a broken leg and had to be taken to the University Hospital of North Tees in Stockton for treatment.

"Other witnesses and people with dash cam footage are asked to contact Cleveland Police via the 101 number quoting Event 005208."
