DETECTIVES are appealing for information after a large amount of jewellery was stolen in a burglary.
The incident occurred sometime between 2.30pm and 6.15pm, on Tuesday, December 3 at an address on Challener Way, in St Helen Auckland, near Bishop Auckland.
It is believed the suspect broke into the side door of the property and once inside removed the jewellery before making off.
As well as the jewellery, a number of money boxes were taken along with an iPad and a smart phone.
Detective Constable Ian Clarke, of Bishop Auckland CID, said: “We would ask anyone who can assist with the recovery of the stolen items to contact us.
“If anyone has come into possession of the jewellery or devices, please come forward.”
Anyone with information relating to the incident or who knows the whereabouts of the stolen property is asked to call Durham Constabulary on 101 quoting reference 324 of December 3.
