SOME of the country's top children's authors will visit Middlesbrough as part of the Northern Children's Book Festival.
More than 40 of the most popular children's writers, poets, illustrators and storytellers will be in the town, from Monday to November 17.
Children's librarian Rita Wilson said: "Children from primary schools can come along to their local library, meet some of the authors and enjoy some great sessions, with lots of stories and loads of inspiration."
Visiting authors include performance actors and writers Paul Cookson and Nick Toczeck and storyteller Bob Hartman.
Award-winning author Cathy McPhail, who writes books for teenagers about her own childhood in Glasgow, will visit a school. and Steve Weatherill, author of Baby Goz books, will be persuading children to dress up and act out a play about Goz.
Other visitors will include popular author Julia Jarman, classic children's writer Bernard Ashley and Rob Lewis, a storyteller and picture book author.
