TRIBUTES have been paid to two men who died in a crash on the A1 on Sunday.

David Couper Wishart, 49, and Paul Lawrence Robertson, 29, both of Fife, in Scotland, were riding a motorised tricycle northbound at Leeming, North Yorkshire, when they were involved in a collision with a lorry and a car.

Mr Wishart, who was driving the vehicle, was described as a dedicated family man.

His sister, Catherine Davies, said: "David was a great person.

He was always just a big kid at heart, full of mischief, practical jokes and tomfoolery.

"He used to go out with the boys - not friends of his own age but his nephews, and did they ever party. He just was your original Peter Pan - he never grew up. He was the greatest.

"He was devoted to his lovely daughter, Anne-Marie, 23, and cared deeply for his two grandchildren, Connor James, five, and Morgan, two.

"David's pride and joy was his daughter, everything he ever did in life was for her. She is devastated by these tragic events and will miss her dad so very much.

"He was my rock - always there to defend me and I will miss him terribly."

Mrs Davies also thanked the emergency services who attended the scene of the crash, and a biker who stopped to help.
