TWO teenagers wrote, composed and choreographed a stage act in their half-term holiday after they were invited to perform at a cultural festival in Norway.
Daniella Wood and Sophie Holden, both 15, incorporated playing instruments, juggling and stilt walking into the piece, which will feature in the festival at Nord-Fron this weekend.
The Richmond School students were chosen for the fourday trip with Richmond's Norwegian town twinning association after an audition.
Liz Moss, director of performing arts at the school, said: "The twinning association invited the school to send some students to perform at the festival. We held auditions and the standard was really high. We had students doing a dance routine in pointe ballet shows; to rap music, dramatic monologues and all sorts."
Daniella and Sophie devised a performance based on Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
They use ultra-violet light and fluorescent colours to create a dreamlike atmosphere and incorporate circus skills, flute and clarinet music, dance and drama.
They designed their costumes, choreographed the piece, composed some of the music, and arranged pieces by Debussey and Grieg.
