PRIMARY school pupils will add a touch of colour to a Billingham park when they help to plant 8,000 flower bulbs.
About 75 children from Roseberry Infant and Pentland Primary schools will help to plant a mix of snowdrop and crocus bulbs at John Whitehead Park, on Wednesday, November 14.
The event, to be led by one of Stockton Borough Council's countryside rangers, has been made possible thanks to the efforts of the Supporters of John Whitehead Park, who secured funding from npower via the Tees Valley Wildlife Trust.
The council has provided additional funds.
Councillor Mary Womphrey, cabinet member for arts, leisure and culture, said: "It's great to see youngsters taking such an interest in their local park, helping to add a splash of colour and make the park a bright, vibrant experience for visitors next year."
