A POLICE officer has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Detective Constable Quita Passmore, 37, was driving an unmarked police car on the evening of May 5, 2018, on Otley Road in Harrogate, at the junction with Cold Bath Road.
She was responding to an emergency call when it is alleged her car collided with another vehicle, seriously injuring two women in their late 70s, who were taken to hospital with multiple fractures.
DC Passmore was also injured.
The matter was referred to the Independent Office for Police Complaints (IOPC) at the time.
It was then referred to the Crown Prosecution Service.
DC Passmore is due to appear before magistrates in Leeds on December 18.
