THE search is on to find Santa's special little helper on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway as a trip on the Santa Express is up for grabs.
The heritage railway, which runs period-locomotives between Pickering and Grosmont throughout the winter period, is asking everyone to nominate their favourite little helper.
Up until 6pm on Sunday, November 24, parents and guardians, friends and family, will have the chance to put forward the names of potential candidates (under age of 10), before the winner is announced.
Santa's chosen helper will then be invited on the 12.30pm Santa Express departing the following Saturday from Grosmont Station.
Opening nominations for the top job, Chris Price, general manager at the North York Moors Railway, said: "We know there’s so many fantastic people in Yorkshire and we want to hear about all the mini heroes who go above and beyond for others.
"The stand-out individual from all entries will receive a free ticket for them and their family to ride our very popular Santa Express.”
As the Santa Express sets off for its journey, children onboard will get the chance to meet Santa himself, and if they're lucky receive an age-appropriate gift from him.
Earlier this year, The Northern Lights Express impressed passengers as they traversed through a forest transformed y magnificent lights and surprises.
