FENWICK Newcastle’s famous Christmas window display will be returning this year with much anticipation.

Around 2,000 people are expected to gather in festive spirit on Northumberland Street for the official reveal of this year’s display.

This year’s window scene has journeyed from Berlin to Newcastle and a team of technicians, animators and window dressers are set to spend five days installing the complex creations.

The elaborate creative process takes up to 3,500 hours and contains story boards designed in collaboration with German company One World Studio, which specialises in producing displays all around the world.

Last year’s much-loved display ‘We’re Walking In the Air’ was inspired by the treasured children’s picture book by author and illustrator Raymond Briggs but shoppers will have to wait until Friday, November 1 at 5pm to find out the theme for this year’s display.

Build-up to the big reveal starts from 3:30pm.
