A 68-YEAR-OLD man has appeared at court charged with three sex offences against a child.
Alan Jones, of Chilton, appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Wednesday, October 9.
The retired factory worker pleaded not guilty to two charges of inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity and one charge of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child under the age of 13.
Mr Jones was represented in court by Michael Clarke.
Chair of the Magistrates, Martin Slimings, denied Mr Jones bail.
He was remanded into police custody pending his next appearance at a trial.
The trial is set to take place at Durham Crown Court on Friday, November 8.
