AN AIRLINE which has a 'long-standing, successful' partnership with Teesside International Airport was celebrating 100 years of flying yesterday.
Passengers flying with KLM from Teesside were treated to cupcakes, flags and t-shirts as they boarded flights to Schipol Airport Amsterdam.
KLM is the world’s oldest airline to still be operating under its original name and currently flies twice a day from Teesside to Amsterdam, connecting the region to 160 destinations through Schipol.
Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “KLM and Teesside Airport have a long-standing, successful partnership. We know how important this relationship is and I look forward to working ever closer with KLM to offer passengers the best connectivity we possibly can.”
