THE sounds of Rhythm and Blues echoed around Darlington town centre at the weekend with hundreds of people turning out to enjoy some free musical entertainment.
The annual festival took over the town's Market Square with the main stage boasting performances from John Coghlan’s Quo, Tommy Allen’s Trafficker, pictured below, Mike Vernon & the Mighty Combo and Sari Schorr & The Engine Room.
Away from the main stage, there was a number of other venues playing host to live music including the Riverside stage featuring The Hot Coals Blues Band, Luke Doherty Band and The Panthers.
Alan Robson, from Newton Aycliffe, said: "There's not as many people as usual but the music has been great – it's just a shame about the weather really."

And Andrea Johnson, from Darlington, said: "It's really good that they put things like this on. It's been great fun."
The free event was organised in conjunction with Darlington Borough Council, Darlington Rhythm ‘n’ Blues Club and Gasto Promotions.
