POLICE have released CCTV footage of a motorcyclist driving dangerously and crashing into a barrier before fleeing the scene.

Officers investigating the incident on Macbean Street in North Ormesby, near Middlesbrough said an uninsured motorcycle was recovered after the unidentified motorcycle rider made off from the scene. 

Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Nicola Clerc of Cleveland Police, who had been carrying out a routine patrol in the North Ormesby area, at the time of the collision witnessed the motorcyclist driving dangerously.

Police said enquiries into the incident, which happened at around 8.50pm on Monday, August 12, were continuing to be be carried out in a bid to trace the motorcyclist.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: “If you have any information regarding the rider please contact PCSO Nicola Clerc via the non-emergency number 10, quoting event number 138386.”
