A MAN facing numerous child sex abuse allegations has denied making children touch him inappropriately.

John Fishwick, 49, from Darlington, allegedly touched a teenager’s breasts and forced himself onto another child several years ago.

Teesside Crown Court heard the youngster vomited after reporting the alleged abuse but Fishwick, who denies the charges, said he doesn’t know why both alleged victims have fabricated the allegations.

Jolyon Perks, prosecuting, told the court: “One of the children said the defendant made her touch him.

“She initially didn’t want to say where, she didn’t want to get into trouble.

“She remembers they were interrupted and he told her not to tell anyone.

“After the disclosure she was physically sick.”

Stephen Constantine, defending, pointed out inconsistencies in the child’s account but giving evidence via a video link, she denied fabricating the allegations and said no one told her to lie.

Referring to the second alleged victim, Mr Perks said Fishwick sent her inappropriate text messages, asked her to wear a Ann Summers outfit and admitted engaging in a “fun fight that went too far”.

He said the girl had to bite him to get away. “She was scared but told a friend, said Mr Perks. “She also told her friend the defendant sent her inappropriate messages.

“The police found this friend and she recalls being told about the incident in the immediate aftermath.”

Mr Perks continued: “The defendant said none of the incidents had taken place. He didn’t understand why such allegations were made.

“He recalled an incident when they had a ‘fun fight’ that went too far and he pushed her on the chest.

“He said he mustn’t have read the signs and she had a crush on him.

“He said he would smack her on the backside and had a laugh.

“On one occasion he asked her to wear a Ann Summers outfit. He denied that and he denied any sexual activity at all.

“He said he didn’t recall ringing or texting her and he didn’t have her phone number.”

Fishwick, of Elizabeth Place, Darlington denies two charges of sexual assault, two counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, one count of inciting a child into sexual activity and one charge of attempting to cause a child into sexual activity.

The trial continues.
