A ROYAL Air Force club has closed its doors after a fire and a police investigation is underway.
The RAFA Club on Cockton Hill Road, in Bishop Auckland, has a sign on the door which reads "closed until further notice due to minor fire damage."
Four fire engines and around a dozen firefighters attended the club on the afternoon of Thursday, July 4, after a fire in the building.
One woman was taken to hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.
Police have since confirmed that investigations surrounding the club are ongoing.
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: "There is an investigation into the Royal Air Force club in Bishop Auckland and enquiries are ongoing."
