A DALES bridge collapsed on Tuesday after flash flooding, with drivers being warned to avoid the area, and take notice of road closed signs.
There is a large hole in the middle of the bridge which runs across a beck above Grinton Youth Hostel, on the road to Leyburn.
Swaledale Mountain Rescue published this photo and said: "PLEASE note heavy flooding on all roads in the Swaledale area only travel if essential as many routes impassable."

Police have said the conditions on the B6270 between Downhome and Grinton are "pretty shocking" with part of the road being washed away by flood water.
