A CLUBLAND event played to a packed beach full of thousands of revellers at Redcar last night.

The dance festival Clubland Live involved a sell-out beach party, with a line-up including headliner Cascada.

The German dance music act played her number one hit Evacuate the Dance Floor and Every Time we Touch.

She has sold more than 30 million records and has had her music played online more than a billion times.

Other acts for event included ‘Pretty Green Eyes’ producer Chris Henry from Ultrabeat, N-Trance who sang 'Set You Free', Flip n Fill, Clubland legend Micky Modelle, Karen Parry, and Scoot and Newcastle's own Jeff Scott.

Clubland Live presenters Ryan Swain, MC Keyes and Finchy hosted the event, welcoming more than 5,000-party goers and said it was one of the biggest ones yet with some "electrifying" performances for the artists.

And a separate summer festival next weekend will involve different genres playing at 24 venues across Redcar, offering live performances and workshops in singing, dancing, theatre, film making, art and craft, along with local food and drink and speciality markets.

As part of Redcar Live, Redcar’s Tuned In venue will host a series of creative summer school workshops, all leading up to the chance to share a stage with a number one pop act.

Redcar Live starts on Saturday, August 3, featuring 150 events, 90 of which are live acts until the finale takes over Redcar on Saturday September 7, featuring tribute acts and local bands.
